Alec McNamara
Creative Director
Alec is a New Mexico native studying Interactive Media and Games at the University of Southern California. He dreamed of designing great games since he first played Halo 3. From that day on, Alec has focused all of his efforts toward honing his skills and learning as much as he can about game development. Along the way, Alec has worked on over a dozen digital and non-digital games individually or as part of a team. Most recently, Alec acted as the Usability Testing Coordinator for Bloom – a 2.5D puzzle platformer developed at USC by nearly 60 talented individuals from many different disciplines. Alec is now acting as the Game Director and Lead Designer for Pareidolia: A Cast of Shadows – a game he has wanted to make for years. Upon graduation from USC, Alec would love to work as a designer for a console studio such as Bungie or Bioware. Alec also aspires to one day run his own small game development studio, as he is truly passionate about bringing talented individuals together and managing teams to create great games. As a designer, Alec is most interested in exploring games with interesting systems that can only be created in a digital space – games such as Portal, Braid, and The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past. Alec plays guitar, loves sports, and has two cats whose names are Dominguez and Inigo Montoya.
